Real healing begins where you are — not where you think you should be

Therapy shouldn't feel like a lecture. It's a conversation — your story, your pace, your goals. Together, we'll find the path forward that actually fits your life.

A therapist who sees you as a whole person, not a diagnosis

I'm Mary J Adams, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Cheyenne. I believe that the most powerful therapeutic work happens when you feel truly heard — not analyzed, not rushed, but met exactly where you are.

Evidence-Based & Relational

My practice draws from established modalities — EFT, CBT, and systemic therapy — always tailored to your unique needs and goals.

A Safe, Non-Judgmental Space

Whether you're navigating a relationship crisis, personal transition, or just feeling stuck — this is a space to breathe and be honest.

Individuals, Couples & Families

Every relationship matters. I work with people at every stage — from young adults finding their footing to couples rekindling connection.

Common questions

Starting therapy is a big step. Here are answers to the questions I hear most often.

Our first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask what brought you in, learn a bit about your history, and discuss what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure to have everything figured out — just show up as you are.
Yes — couples therapy is a core part of my practice. Whether you're experiencing conflict, feeling disconnected, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, I provide a neutral space where both partners can be heard and understood.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients find relief in just a handful of sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We'll discuss your goals and check in regularly to make sure we're on the right track.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. What you share stays between us, with the standard legal exceptions (such as imminent danger to yourself or others). We'll discuss this in detail during our first session.
Please reach out directly to discuss insurance and payment options. I want to make sure you have clear information before committing to sessions so there are no surprises.
